Warner Brothers will release DC Universe streaming service with new Harley Quinn and Swamp Thing series

Written by  May 05, 2018
Comic book fans unite – soon you’ll have your own version of Netflix to sink your teeth into, and a whole bunch of new shows to match.

DC have announced the launch of their new streaming service, DC Universe – which will become home to a string of new live-action and cartoon shows of the comic giants.

We’re still none-the-wiser as to when the site will go live, and how much it’s going to set us back, but if the shows they’ve announced are anything to go by, we’re in for a doozy.

Harley Quinn – the other half of the Crown Prince of Crime, The Joker – will be going it alone with her own animated series.

It’s rumoured that the show will be seen on the show cutting ties with her Puddin’ and causing chaos around the city with her besties, including Poison Ivy.

The ultimate female villain in the DCU, Harley will also be seen on our cinema screens over the upcoming years as Margot Robbie reprises her Suicide Squad role in films including Gotham City Sirens, Suicide Squad 2 and a Joker/Harley origin movie.

Basically, get ready to see a whole lot more of our favourite twisted therapist.

Other shows that have been announced for the new site include a live-action series of Titans, a live-action series of Swamp Thing, and a third season of Young Justice.

DC Universe will run in direct competition with Disney and their streaming service, which is set to launch at some point next year.

Disney hold the property rights to juggernauts such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the Star Wars franchise.
